The West Babylon Public Library on Long Island is hosting a dog safety workshop for kids on October 5, 2023 at 6 pm.

Join us for fun, a game, prizes and to meet Violet, our canine good citizen and safety dog. Participants must register ahead of time on the library’s website.
Children encounter dogs every day, both familiar and unfamiliar to them. While dogs can be loving and loyal companions, it’s crucial to educate children on safe dog interaction in order to prevent accidents and promote responsible pet ownership. Our dog safety workshop for kids aims to:
- Teach children how to approach and interact with dogs safely.
- Raise awareness about canine communication.
- Dog etiquette for kids by teaching empathy and compassion for animals.
- Canine safety. Creating bite-free communities is our goal.
We want to help children and their families understand how to read dogs so they know when the dog is “okay to play” and when kids “should stay away”.
We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming event in the West Babylon Public Library.
Can’t make the event in October? Visit us at dogsavvykids.com to play games, learn of other events and to schedule an event for your school, scouting troop or any other family-friendly event relating to child safety
